Unite! Engineering Biology – Matchmaking Event for young researchers

Engineering Biology is an important topic in the Unite! alliance. To foster collaboration and seed joint proposal initiatives in the area of biotechnology, biomedicine, biosciences and chemistry, we will organize an online matchmaking event on September 25th, 2025, 9 am-4 pm.

Biomedical Engineering and Renewable Biotechnology are key technologies for addressing pressing global challenges for mankind. Regarding Biomedical Engineering, the concept focus on fostering and advancing existing health care solutions, improving technological approaches to tackle prevention, diagnosis and state-of-the-art treatments of diseases. Regarding Renewable Biotechnology, the focus is on the development of sustainable processes, enabling utilization of carbon dioxide and biomass as a future resource across all types of industry, and can thus make an important contribution to the transition to a net zero society. Unite! Engineering Biology aims to join the forces of the Unite! partner universities in the area of biotechnology, biomedicine, biosciences and chemistry.

The events aims to be a platform for scientific exchange and collaboration. We invite all Unite! PIs from these areas, particularly young group leaders, to present their activities and recent research highlights in short presentations of 10 min with 5 min discussion. Breakout sessions will be an opportunity to get to know other researchers from the Unite! partners who are interested to launch Unite! seed funds proposals and other initiatives.

We are looking forward to an exciting workshop!
