The consortium leads in joint research endeavors, implementing two pioneering pilot projects that delve into the theme of sharing research infrastructure (RI) and data cooperation. These initiatives aim not only to explore the intricacies of joint efforts but also to provide invaluable insights and practical experiences to users and researchers involved in sharing scientific infrastructure.
The first pilot offered an empirical perspective on the process of sharing research infrastructure from the user’s point of view. By fostering collaboration between Josep Arévalo Soler, a researcher from Barcelona specializing in high voltage direct current (HVDC) network simulation, and the Sustainable Power Laboratory (SPL) at KTH, the pilot’s main objective was to gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by external users when accessing research infrastructures.
The second pilot focuses on the active implementation of a robust data sharing strategy among carefully selected living labs across Europe. By developing a common methodology, the project aims to facilitate data utilization and collaboration among all participating partners, creating an information system designed to facilitate data sharing generated by laboratories. Key stakeholders will produce a report detailing the outcomes of this project.
These two pilot projects have the potential to provide tangible insights and practical applications in the realm of research infrastructure and data sharing within Unite!, marking significant progress towards excellence in collaborative research.
