Seed Fund for Teaching and Learning, has brought together 21 Unite! students and 25 Unite! teachers in Torino for two weeks of an intensive pilot course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This\u00a0<strong>pilot course<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0coordinated by\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Prof.\u00a0Eugenio Brusa<\/strong>\u00a0(Politecnico di Torino),\u00a0was<strong>\u00a0developed by a team of researchers and professors\u00a0<\/strong>who\u00a0established\u00a0the \u201c<strong>EU-Rotor Lab<\/strong>,\u201d a federated research infrastructure connecting multiple research groups and laboratories within Unite!\u00a0dealing with design of rotating systems. Two associate partners\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0the University of Loughborough (UK) and the University of Rijeka (Croatia)\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0also joined this initiative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E-ROTORS<\/strong>\u00a0introduced the fundamentals of\u00a0<strong>modelling, design, testing, monitoring, and maintenance of rotating machinery and systems<\/strong>, and\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0the pragmatic implementation of design and modelling criteria, experimental tests, and data elaboration and interpretation. This was parallel to deepening knowledge of data processing and analysis, based on physical, statistical, AI approaches and therefore introduced the most updated enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 and 5.0, within the current stream of digital\u00a0transition.<\/p>\n<p>After the\u00a0<strong>first stage<\/strong>, consisting of\u00a0<strong>online webinars<\/strong>, between 13 and 24 April 2026, the students who joined the course were able to spend two weeks at\u00a0Politecnico\u00a0di Torino. They attended lectures, had guided visits to advanced labs in both the university and the private sector, and visited Turin\u2019s museums.<\/p>\n<p>This pilot course offered a novel opportunity for our<strong>\u00a0masters\u2019 students<\/strong>\u00a0to learn how to ensure\u00a0<strong>safety\u00a0<\/strong>and reach the goal of full\u00a0<strong>sustainability\u00a0<\/strong>(within the actuation of green\u00a0transition) though experimental activity, digital modelling, theoretical fundamentals data elaboration and analysis, even resorting to programming environments as Python and\u00a0Matlab.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cSafe and Sustainable E-ROTORS\u201d project, implemented under the Unite!
