From meetings to Finnish cultural experiences, Uniters strengthened the shared vision of Unite! and built lasting collaborations at Aalto University.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

From 6\u20139 October 2025, the XII Unite! Dialogue brought more than 350 representatives from nine European universities to Aalto for a week of collaboration, networking, and new ideas.<\/p>\n

An opening to remember<\/h3>\n

The Dialogue opened with a Finnish tango and warm welcomes from Aalto\u2019s Key Liaison Officer, Minna-Kaarina Forss\u00e9n, Aalto VP of Education, Petri Suomala, Aalto President Ilkka Niemel\u00e4, and Unite! President Tanja Br\u00fchl. Unite! communities shared their latest achievements, and the unveiling of\u00a0Blooming Beyond Borders<\/a>\u00a0by Aalto student Suthasinee Naktnasukanjn symbolised growth and cooperation across borders.<\/p>\n

Leadership and students<\/h3>\n

Key governance sessions gathered the Steering Committee, Academic Forum, and Rectors\u2019 meetings. A major highlight was the\u00a0election of Vivien Qu\u00e9ma<\/a>, President of Grenoble INP \u2013 UGA, as the new Unite! President, joined by Vice Presidents Anders S\u00f6derholm (KTH) and Arkadiusz Wojs (Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology). Tanja Br\u00fchl (TU Darmstadt) concluded six impactful years of leadership, reaffirming Unite!\u2019s mission to connect European universities.<\/p>\n

Students Unite! for Representation and Empowerment (SURE!)\u00a0also elected new leaders<\/a>: President Marcel Sobecki (Wroc\u0142aw), Vice President Matilde Godinho (Lisboa), Secretary Pau Morente (UPC), and Treasurer Laura Armando (Politecnico di Torino). Student Liaison Officers met with SURE! to strengthen collaboration and student engagement.<\/p>\n

Research, culture and connection<\/h3>\n

In a parallel programme, 32 early-career researchers joined the Dialogue, hosted by Aalto academics, to explore joint teaching and research opportunities.<\/p>\n

As is now tradition, the Unite! Awards were handed out to nine deserving recipients.\u00a0The Awards\u00a0<\/a>celebrate excellence across the community.<\/p>\n

Beyond meetings, participants enjoyed Finnish culture through sauna evenings, cooking, architecture tours, hiking, and the Gala Dinner \u2014 featuring Aalto bands Polyrytmi and A-Top, with President Ilkka Niemel\u00e4 on guitar.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead<\/h3>\n
