The Unite! Visiting Professorship Programme at TU Darmstadt aims to attract outstanding international scholars from the Unite! alliance for the 3rd edition (Winter Semester 2026\/27).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As a strategic cooperation format, the\u00a0Unite! Visiting Professorship programme<\/strong>\u00a0enhances academic networking between TU Darmstadt and\u00a0the others\u00a0Unite! universities, while contributing to the professional development of visiting scholars. At the same time, students at TU Darmstadt benefit from enriched, internationalised teaching experiences and exposure to new perspectives.<\/p>\n

General\u00a0framework\u00a0and requirements<\/h3>\n

The programme is\u00a0open to\u00a0all disciplines\u00a0represented\u00a0at TU Darmstadt<\/strong>.\u00a0Visiting professors from Unite! universities are expected to contribute to teaching at TU Darmstadt by offering\u00a0supplementary or elective courses<\/strong>, ideally introducing\u00a0innovative topics or formats<\/strong>.\u00a0The program primarily targets\u00a0advanced postdoctoral researchers<\/strong>, while applications from\u00a0established lecturers and professors<\/strong>\u00a0are equally welcome.<\/p>\n

Up to\u00a0two visiting professorships<\/strong>\u00a0can be funded under this call, either in the winter semester 2026\/27 or, alternatively, in the summer semester 2027. The appointments are intended for a\u00a0duration of six months<\/strong>. For the winter semester 2026\/27, this period should cover the lecture term from mid-October to mid-February; equivalent arrangements apply for the summer semester 2027, covering the lecture period from mid-April to mid-July.<\/p>\n

The positions are\u00a0full-time (100%) appointments<\/strong>\u00a0and cannot be undertaken as secondary or part-time engagements. Applicants must\u00a0demonstrate, as part of the application process, that arrangements have been made with their home institution to ensure they\u00a0can be\u00a0granted leave or otherwise released from their duties<\/strong>\u00a0for the duration of the visiting professorship.<\/p>\n

Please note that, depending on nationality,\u00a0this position may require a\u00a0work visa<\/strong>\u00a0(a residence permit for the country of the home institution\u00a0generally does\u00a0not\u00a0authorise\u00a0employment in Germany). The TU Darmstadt Welcome Centre provides support with the visa application process; however, applicants should be aware that processing times may vary and can take some time.<\/p>\n

Financial conditions<\/h3>\n

TU Darmstadt will\u00a0fully cover the costs<\/strong>\u00a0for both visiting professorships, for a maximum duration of six months.\u00a0The positions are intended to be filled\u00a0as a\u00a0full-time position\u00a0for the\u00a0entire semester<\/strong>.\u00a0In the case of an extension beyond the\u00a0initial\u00a0funding\u00a0period,\u00a0faculties and institutes at TU Darmstadt<\/strong>\u00a0will\u00a0be responsible for\u00a0covering\u00a0additional\u00a0costs.<\/p>\n
